Kristen Estelle Birthworks
Doula and Lactation Consultant
About Me
Certified as a full spectrum doula and lactation consultant, I have been providing doula services since January 2020. With a diverse range of birth experiences, I enjoy being part of the care team no matter what that looks like for you.
I am dedicated to serving birthing individuals and their families at hospital, home, or birth center.
My own experiences with pregnancy, birth and motherhood are what inspired me to embark on the journey of supporting others navigating their perinatal experience. I understand the challenges and joys of birth and motherhood and I am dedicated to walking alongside my clients through the peaks and valleys of pregnancy, birth and postpartum while providing physical, emotional and informational support.
Besides birth work, I have been involved in health and wellness as a exercise instructor and personal trainer in my 20s. I have taught yoga since 2012, became a holistic health coach in 2015, and lactation consultant in 2023.
When I am not with my own kids, working with clients or teaching yoga, I love being in nature, walking my dog, hiking, biking, snowboarding, surfing and gardening.
I consider it my greatest honor to be welcomed into the perinatal experience and birth space of my clients with non-judgmental compassionate care.
When parents feel supported, they can better support each other and their babies in setting the best foundation for their growth together.

Prenatal Support
From the moment you hire me, I am your doula and will work to identify where you need support and information, help develop your birth preferences and help prepare you for going into labor and birthing your baby. I am accessible whenever you need me plus we have two in person meetings including partners between 32 and 38 weeks.
The Big Day
As you approach your due date, we check in more often and I am on call and ready to support you when you go into labor. I support you and your partner mentally, emotionally and informationally throughout your entire labor journey and for the hour or two after. I help with first latch if you are planning to breastfeed, help you order food and get you settled into your post partum space.
Postpartum
After baby is born and you are home, I come visit to process the birth, bring you nourishing food and/or supplies, help with feeding baby and/or light tasks around the house. I continue to check in and am always happy to hear from you and provide resources as you move forward through your parenting adventure!

Hiring Kristen as our doula was the best thing I did for my pregnancy and birth. She made herself available throughout the final few months of my pregnancy via countless texts and phone calls prepared to answer all the wild questions I had about any symptoms or feelings. When I finally went into labor, none of us knew I’d be in it for a whopping 60 hours before my son was in my arms. I could go on and on about all the things she did to help get my son in an optimal position (there were many) but at the end of the day, she was just there for me. She is amazing and I’d hire her again and again and again.

We worked with Kristen for the birth our first child. She was thoughtful, compassionate, and informative. She was a fantastic advocate for me at the hospital during labor and seemed to know my needs before I did. We had the delivery we wanted because of her support. She also took some gorgeous photos for us that captured the intensity - and beauty - of the process. Kristen has continued to be a support and an advocate. I highly recommend her!

Kristen was a key piece in achieving the VBAC that I had hoped for and dreamed of. Before we left for the hospital, she called me to go over a number of items and recommendations. That phone call helped me feel empowered and confident heading into the hospital. Her tips for positions and comfort truly made a difference in my labor. When Kristen arrived at the hospital, she was warm, thoughtful, and calm, especially when my pain started to escalate. I immediately felt comfortable with her in the room. She stayed by my side until after our son was born and was available to help in any way big or small, and she listened to and supported my thoughts on each decision. She also worked so well with my OBGYN and the nurses, which was important to me. I’m so grateful Kristen was there to support my husband and me as we welcomed our second son. It was a beautiful day.
